You need a notebook just to keep up, there is so much information in this course. From my, admittedly, limited knowledge when it comes to the media, he has to have covered just about everything that could happen. No one gets everything, but he is right up there!

I found that "How To Speak To The News Media Effectively" by TJ Walker to be among the most beneficial courses that I have taken on Udemy. Mr. Walker has 30 years of experience in training prominent figures throughout the world; he is a well-respected author and makes frequent appearances on major news networks in the U.S. In this course Mr. Walker teaches the techniques, methodology, and mental preparation that is involved in speaking with the media. Each section of the class is clearly marked and targets the specific areas that need to be addressed. Mr. Walker lays out clear guidelines to help you establish your goals before your interview. He gives clear advise about personal appearance, steps in clarifying your message, how to handle interviews, answering media questions, and using "sound bites" to make sure your main message will be accurately recorded by the media. The lectures themselves are broken down into short "sound bites", the longest being just a few seconds over four minutes. This is very helpful since each one is very clearly and accurately titled for quick future reference. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire course and will reference them time and time again. I especially appreciated “Section 3 – Messaging”. This is excellent material that can be used in speaking and writing. This section alone is worth a great deal and I personally considered it to be the core of the class. I will be implementing this in a number of different ways, both in my writing and in public speaking. Don't skip the "Bonus" material. This section is a gold mine of resources, and I gleaned a great deal from this section alone. They are quick, pointed and very useful if you desire to excel in any situation where you will be speaking. I want to conclude by saying I am very impressed by the quality, content, and execution of Mr. Walker's presentation. I highly recommend this course to anyone that needs to speak to the media, participate in video group presentations, handle Skype interviews, or be involved in video recording.
